jc_SketchPose!
alright, i've finally(!!) added sketchpose to the highend3d maya scripts. for those looking for more info on it, scroll down a bit to see my previous posts with video links. i will be diving back into the code to get the rotations sorted soon, as we'll probably be using this at work on a project in the near future.

I really should give a big thanks to Mark Swain, the original creator of the disney sketchPose tool. thats where the inspiration for this tool came from... just so you know!

Hi,
Happy you liked my SketchPose tool that I designed at Disney a few years ago. The Rotation aspect is one of the more difficult parts of the tool. I guess it could be done in mel but it will be a little slower. The interaction is also difficult without using the API.
Anyhow...good luck on your future projects and happy you where inspired by SketchPose.

hey mark!
Yeah, that presentation was jogged in my memory i guess early this year for some reason. oh yes, i was rigging a 6 legged dog with octopus legs :)
so i sat down and wondered if i could replicate it as close as i could.
it's definitely not as streamlined as yours, so yeah.. i wish it could be a bit more interactive. i probably wont have a chance to try to make it a plugin, but ya never know. do you guys still use that at disney (are you still there?)?
if you can shoot me an email, i'd love to pick your brain about some stuff :) (or i might still have your email from that sigg presentation..)
thanks mark!
Yep...
They still use SketchPose for various applications. The last I noticed it was used for hair.
And now after 13 years at Disney I took off in July and now work for nVidia on their demo team for new fancy graphics cards.
Good luck on you projects.
